Con-Graduations!

Congratulations class of 2012!  My client for this school inspired dessert table had two grads to celebrate, one from high school, one from college.  Since one school's colors were blue and gold and the other's was purple and gold, naturally I decided to run with red, black and yellow plaid!  As you scroll through the images, I hope you enjoy all the school themed treats and props.  Enjoy!

The spread: Love our black board banner.

Banner detail.

Miniature chalkboards.

Lots of fun props really sell the graduation theme;  Piles of English Lit. books tied up with coordinating plaid ribbon with a giant apple balanced on top, a large blackboard welcoming the Class of 2012, a stack of black erasers sitting in front of a glass cube filled with chalk, a mortarboard on a white wire hat stand, a plaid lunchbox holding "class ring" Ring Pops.  All of these details help to elevate the treats from ordinary to something really special.

Chalkboard back drop.

A "pop" of red.  This guy has 2012 glasses on.

Our first go at using push ups.  I've seen this trend growing and happened upon some at my favorite little cake supply place, so I picked them up having no idea how I'd use them.  And guess what fits perfectly in a push up - mini donuts!  Who knew?  We dressed them up by spray painting their caps black and adding paper squares and hand made tassels to create these grad cap lids. Note the actual teeny tiny chalkboards used as food labels. Great find!

One of my favorite details.

Platter of grad cookies.

The hostess said these were the first to go.

Love these old fashioned molded candy pops.

Our cubby filled with vanilla "cap" cakes.

Molded chocolate grad cap toppers.

Jelly Belly crayons set in a modified box.

Please note the gigantic ruled paper backdrop.

More fun props: classic black and white composition books topped with a novelty giant pencil, and one of our glass vessels covered in wooden rulers tied up with a fat satin ribbon.

Grad pennant cookie detail.

Cinnamon Honor Rolls - another fave.

Pirouette cookie bundles.

Congrats to all the grads this year!
